HONEYMAN GROUP SECURES TRAINING CONTRACT
WITH HEALTH PROTECTION AGENCY
18/06/09The Honeyman Group, the
pharmaceutical process support specialist, has confirmed a new agreement
to deliver technical training to the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
The agency, which aims to protect the public from environmental hazards
and infectious diseases such as swine flu, has engaged Honeyman to
deliver a series of training programmes to support its production of
vaccines.
This agreement renews the relationship between Honeyman and the HPA,
which has seen the Barnard-Castle based company deliver training to more
than 100 agency professionals.
The Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Response in Porton Down,
Salisbury, plays a vital role in preparing for and co-ordinating
responses to possible healthcare emergencies. In addition to
manufacturing vaccines and therapeutics, the centre also undertakes
research into infectious diseases.
Honeyman Group will deploy a team of specialist trainers to the HPA’s
base in Wiltshire throughout the year to train the technicians.
The training programmes include Good Engineering Practice,
Pharmaceutical Water Systems and Sterilisation. These modules will
assist the technicians in the management and application of sterile
water that is used to produce vaccines.
Honeyman Group has been delivering specialist training to pharmaceutical
professionals for almost 20 years. Several thousand delegates have gone
through Honeyman training, either at its North East training facility or
on-site as in the case of the HPA programmes. Delivered by industry
specialists with up-to-date, practical experience of the industry, the
programmes often involve interactive workshops and discussion forums.

achieved by Honeyman through partnerships with other specialists and
experts from the sector and regulatory bodies to provide professionals
with advice and training guidance across a wide
